As most of you may not know, I was involved in an accident a couple of days before christmas. Somebody spun out a few cars ahead of me on Highway 100. I stopped before I hit anybody, but the guy behind me apparently didn't leave enough stopping distance between us. Or he was asleep? In any case, he drove between my car and the car next to me, even though there wasn't very much space between the two. He hit both of us, throwing the poor station wagon into the gaurd rail. That car was completely totaled, and I feel really bad for the driver. At the time, I was driving Sasha, and she sustained some damage to her passenger side fender, bumper, and corner light. After replacing the brake lines, I finally found the opportunity to take her in for an estimate. If you're in the MN area, I highly recommend Crystal Lake Automotive for all your bodyshop work. The people there are friendly, helpful, and the business is run incredibly smoothly. Not to mention they do fantastic work. Anyway, the estimate was about $1,300 to repair the bumper and fender and replace the light. I faxed the estimate to the insurance company handling the claim, and luckily they are accepting liability. However, they need to have the quote approved by some other department before I can take the car in to have the work done. So goes another step in the process. |
