After making some changes to global settings in Joomla, all the links broke. The site was unusable, and only now have I figured out why. As it turns out, certain things happen when you enable "Search Engine Friendly" links in the global configuration. I solved the problem by moving htaccess.txt to .htaccess and enabling apache mod_rewrite in the global config. Now I have to fix some of the linking changes I made while I was troubleshooting. |

So last week somebody asked me for computer help. It turns out he managed to hose his Vista install on an Acer. The Micro Center told him it looked like a bad hard drive, and to send it back to Acer. When I looked at it, the drive seemed fine, and I was able to backup all of his data. However I did not have a vista disc or license, and Acer did not provide one with the laptop. So he has to send it in anyway. I feel bad for him. |
